Recently, the Beijing Guishui River Hydraulic elevator dam (HED) project, located in Yanqing District, has been fully completed and officially put into operation. As a critical water conservancy infrastructure, this project significantly enhances the comprehensive regulation and management capabilities of water resources in the Guishui River Basin. It holds great strategic importance for ensuring regional flood control safety, optimizing water resource allocation, and improving the ecological environment.

Situated at a key section of the Guishui River, the project's design combines functionality and foresight. It aims to precisely meet the complex local water flow regulation needs while committing to the long-term sustainable utilization of water resources. The newly constructed hinge gate is large in scale and advanced in technology, with a clear river width of 92.4 meters, a dam height of 3.5 meters, and a total of 12 spans, each with a net length of 7.7 meters. The overall structure is stable and well-coordinated. The hydraulic hinge dam technology adopted features flexible operation, precise regulation, and reliable performance. It allows for rapid adjustment of the dam's angle and height based on actual hydrological conditions, thereby achieving efficient and intelligent control of river water levels and flow rates.

During the construction process, the project team demonstrated high engineering precision and meticulous planning, overcoming technical challenges to ensure both quality and progress. The project fully embodies an eco-friendly philosophy, emphasizing harmonious coexistence with the surrounding natural environment.

The completion and operation of this project mark a further consolidation of the Guishui River flood control system and a significant enhancement of its water storage and drought resistance capabilities. It will not only effectively regulate floods and store valuable water resources but also continuously improve the river channel and its surrounding ecological environment through scientific water volume regulation. This provides robust support for water security, water ecology, and water landscape construction in Yanqing District and even the capital city, injecting new "water-powered" momentum into the high-quality economic and social development of the region.
