Water Level Control and Flood Protection

Modern dams rely on hydraulic drive systems with cylinders to manage gate movement and positioning for both water level control and flood protection. Depending on the gate type—radial, rotary, slide, or flap—the hydraulic cylinders must be custom-engineered to suit the specific mechanical configuration. These designs can follow DIN, ASME, or regional standards, and can be adapted to meet unique customer requirements. Key functions such as load holding, synchronization, and safety are achieved through manifold blocks, which are typically directly flanged to the cylinders.
