In order to further to enhance the health awareness of employers, popularize the first aid-related knowledge and skills, and improve the competency of help each other in an emergency. On the afternoon of October 13th, the outpatient department of IWHR organized the first aid knowledge training in the north campus and more than 40 employers from BIC participated in this training. This training invited the professional lecturer from the Training Center of the Red Cross Society of China to give lectures. The training includes two parts: theoretical teaching and on-site simulation. In the theoretical teaching session, it focused on the first aid process, the steps and essentials of the CPR (cardio-pulmonary resuscitation), the application method of AED (automated external defibrillator), and first aid skills of Heimlich Maneuver.
In the subsequent simulation operation session, the students practiced the operation essentials of CPR in groups on the teaching model, mastered the compression position, compression depth, and compression frequency, etc. The purpose is to deepen the memory of the key points of the rescue of patients with cardiac arrest. Besides, students practiced Heimlich Maneuver with each other. Finally, the instructor corrects the movements one by one to help students quickly master the essentials of first aid.
