October 15, 2025 – BIC held a technical exchange seminar on rubber dam engineering, which proved to be a successful event. The meeting brought together industry experts and technical professionals to explore key topics such as design standards, structural optimization, and critical technologies related to rubber dam bags. In-depth discussions were conducted across several core issues, offering valuable insights for promoting the standardization and innovative application of rubber dam technology.

Regarding design standards, participating experts emphasized that rubber dam engineering must strictly adhere to relevant Chinese national and industry specifications. The national standard Technical Code for Rubber Dam Engineering serves as a guiding document, systematically covering the entire process from project planning and design to construction installation and operational management. Meanwhile, the water industry standard Rubber Dam Bag provides detailed regulations on the classification, model parameters, technical indicators, testing methods, inspection rules, as well as packaging, storage, and transportation of dam bags, forming a crucial basis for quality control and engineering safety.

 

During the session on project design recommendations, the focus shifted to proposed changes in the structural form of the rubber dam. Experts analyzed the potential for structural design adjustments from the perspectives of operational stability and civil installation feasibility. By comparing the performance of pillow-type and slope-type structures in terms of pressure distribution, operational behavior, service life, installation processes, and performance under low-inflation conditions, participants gained a clearer understanding of the applicability and relative advantages of different structural types in various engineering scenarios, providing a solid technical foundation for optimized project design.

The seminar concluded with a systematic summary of key design points for rubber dam bags, covering multiple critical aspects such as material selection, manufacturing details, and durability assurance. The importance of scientific design in enhancing the overall performance and service life of rubber dams was strongly emphasized.

 

This seminar not only deepened mutual understanding in the field of rubber dam engineering but also injected new momentum into the standardized and refined development of related technologies. Both sides expressed their commitment to continued collaboration, jointly promoting innovation and application of rubber dam technology in the field of water resource management.
